I’m honoured to have been asked to serve as Minister of State for Health in government.
The NHS supports millions of patients every week, providing vital care to those who need it most, but is currently letting too many people down. I know that patients are struggling to see their GP, waiting too long in an emergency, and left on waiting lists for months on end.
I’m determined to tackle the huge challenges facing the health service, to get the NHS back on its feet. It is my personal experiences of the NHS that drive my political passion: my 30-year career as an NHS manager, and more recent experience as a cancer patient.
Fixing the NHS will take time, but it’s our mission to build an NHS that people can rely on, in south Bristol and beyond.
