It was an inspiring few days at Labour Party conference; the first conference that Labour has held as the party of government in 15 years.
Catching up with Labour activists from Bristol South and across the country, it was a great opportunity to reflect on the historic election victory in July and all our new Labour MPs in the South West.
In his speech, Prime Minister Keir Starmer set out Labour’s vision to rebuild Britain. A government of service that will deliver the national renewal our country needs, through fixing our public services, creating economic growth, and building a more sustainable future.
As Labour’s Health Minister, I’m proud to be working as part of that government of service. I met with several health organisations, charities, and patient groups while at conference. Everyone I spoke to from the health and care sector said they recognised what we are saying about the state of the NHS, and were enthusiastic about our plans to fix it.
